Ten Underrated Moments From The Office: Tenth Anniversary Edition

Ah, The Office.  The single greatest show to ever grace American’s television screens (I’m not biased, I swear) is ten years old.  The Office has an endless list of moments that will be remembered by fans forever, but it’s the small things that truly made the show great.  Without further ado, here’s ten moments that probably won’t be remembered in twenty years, but were great nonetheless.

“I’ll have the gabagool”

In season 6, Michael, Andy, and Dwight became suspicious of a shady insurance salesman with the last name “Grotti”. With the “R” in the name, it becomes very intimidating.  It’s why they don’t call murder, “muckduck”.  Michael and co. went to lunch with the pushy salesman and while ordering, chaos ensued.

Michael Falls Into a Koi Pond

Shortly after becoming “Co-Managers” in season 6, Michael and Jim left the office to meet with a client.  Upon arriving back, Michael walked in soaking wet.  Confused, the workers questioned what happened, but only received crazy stories about freak thunderstorms.  It was later found out that the lobby of the building featured a beautiful koi pond… do I need to say more?

Stanley’s Pretzel Day Speech

Who doesn’t like pretzel day?  It’s the reason most of us wake up in the morning.  If you’re like Stanley, you probably have a calendar devoted to counting down the hours until the delicious day.

“Right back at ya, bitch.”

Not everyone was happy when Michael’s love interest, Holly, returned to the show.  After her ultimatum with AJ, the entire office was captivated by her finger.  Kevin wasn’t too thrilled.

“Strike. Scream. Run.”

After Andy was attacked by a gang, Toby took it upon himself to share his knowledge of self-defense with the office.  Creed was all set in that department.

Erin’s Take on Disposable Cameras

Erin Hannon will go down as the sweetest character to ever grace the Dunder Mifflin/Sabre offices.  When taking pictures of Dwight’s “Pretty-Woman” makeover, she was left disappointed with the limitations of disposable cameras.

Oscar’s Southern Accent

When faced with the threat of losing their jobs, Michael did the only thing he excels at: not working.  Michael forced the office into role playing in a murder-mystery based in the South.  Oscar took the role-playing to a new level.

Dwight’s Complaint Box

It’s no secret that early on Dwight didn’t like Jim.  With a complaint box for everyone to use, it seemed like Dwight was the only one taking advantage of it.  Things get emotional with Jim at the end, be warned.

“Take a day off from the whole Jim schtick”

Resident slacker and jerk Ryan Howard’s biggest contribution to Dunder Mifflin was his dismay for Michael, and his stern faces to the camera.  His biggest contribution to Jim, however, made everyone reevaluate the lovable prankster.

“Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration”

Bob Vance will forever be remembered as the man’s man who swept Phyllis off her feet.  He also made a good impression with her coworkers.

A list of funny Office moments will never be complete, but fans will be able to revel in the show’s glory for years to come.
